AdBacon is a Chrome extension that helps users identify and verify paid-advertising signals for websites they visit.

Data AdBacon Processes

AdBacon processes the domain and URL of the website currently being viewed. It may also locally inspect webpage scripts and resource information to detect advertising technologies such as Google Ads tags, Meta Pixel, and TikTok Pixel.

This information is used only to provide AdBacon’s paid-intent scoring and advertising verification features.

Local Storage

AdBacon stores settings, ignored domains, cached advertising signals, temporary verification workflow information, and recent verification results locally in the user’s Chrome browser.

Third-Party Advertising Libraries

When a user chooses to verify advertising activity, AdBacon opens public advertising transparency tools operated by Google, Meta, or TikTok and may include the business website, domain, or brand name in the search.

Data Sharing

AdBacon does not sell user data.

AdBacon does not send browsing history or website content to an AdBacon-operated server.

Information is shared with third-party advertising libraries only when necessary to perform a verification requested by the user.

Personal Information

The Chrome extension does not collect names, email addresses, payment information, authentication credentials, health information, financial information, personal communications, or precise location information.

Website Marketing

Users may voluntarily provide an email address through the AdBacon website to receive product updates, beta announcements, early-access information, or occasional marketing messages.

Website marketing signup information is separate from Chrome extension browsing data.

User Control

Users can remove the AdBacon extension at any time through Chrome.

Users can also manage ignored domains and local extension settings inside AdBacon.

Changes to This Policy

This privacy policy may be updated as AdBacon develops.

Any material changes to AdBacon’s data practices will be reflected in this policy and, where applicable, in Chrome Web Store privacy disclosures.
